The real star in terms of game modes in Guilty Gear Xrd is the story mode. I get the impression that they felt some people would be playing this as their first ever Guilty Gear game. There is a lot of things to learn here and thankfully the game has an excellent tutorial that teaches you the basics. This is not a game you can just jump into and start mashing buttons like a maniac. One of the things that throws some people off about this series is just how complex it is. It is not the largest roster in a fighting game, but more than enough to keep you happy. What I really like about the roster in Guilty Gear Xrd is that no two characters ever feel the same. My favorite one is Bedman who has one of the strangest character designs and personalities of any fighting game character I have seen. There is a decent enough range of characters here with many of our returning favorites and some fun new ones. The soundtrack is so good that it is a firm favorite of mine when I am at the gym as it really does pump me up. My preferred way of playing this is with headphones on and the music up loud and the sound effects about halfway. Rock and RollĪlong with these amazing visuals, Guilty Gear Xrd also has a rocking soundtrack that deserves to be played with the volume cranked up.

Ino is a real favorite of mine and I would never skip hers as she always looked so badass. The backgrounds have so much stuff going on that sometimes it is fun to watch others play so you can take it all in.Įach character just oozes personality and this game has some of the best character intros I have ever seen. So, while this is a 2D fighting game, some moves will rotate the camera and really show off the visuals.
